This news is a bit surprising, but shouldn’t be if you’ve been following what has happened during [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag]’s spring practices.
Wide receiver, I mean cornerback, [autotag]Lorenzo Styles Jr.[/autotag] has entered the transfer portal ahead of playing in the Blue and Gold game.
The timing of this decision is odd, as Styles Jr. was in the midst of making the transition from receiver to corner this spring. Personally, I was excited to see how this move would work out, but now we won’t get that chance.
If I had to guess, Styles Jr. wants to continue to play wide receiver at this level, but it doesn’t make much sense after two seasons of up-and-down play. He caught 54 balls for 684 yards and two scores, while adding in 4 rushes for 86 yards.
Notre Dame receiver Lorenzo Styles is in the NCAA transfer portal. He caught 30 balls for the Irish last season. He has 54 career catches.

We wish Styles Jr. the best as he looks to find his new football home.
