When Brooklyn traded Caris LeVert in the James Harden deal, the Indiana Pacers — who received him in exchange for Victor Oladipo, who’s now with the Houston Rockets — discovered a small mass on the former Nets guard’s kidney during the physical process.
On Tuesday, the Pacers announced LeVert “underwent successful surgery on Monday to treat renal cell carcinoma of his left kidney.” LeVert received the surgery in Indianapolis and will not need any further treatment for his kidney. LeVert is expected to make a full recovery. As for his timetable to return, the Pacers say their new guard remains out indefinitely.

LeVert has not played in an NBA game since he was traded to the Pacers, last suiting up for the Nets in their January 12 win over the Denver Nuggets — a game in which he eclipsed the 20-point mark for the fifth consecutive game, logged six assists and grabbed five rebounds.
