Mat Ishbia, a former walk-on for MSU Basketball, played with the team from 1999-2002 and was with the team for their historic National Championship in 2000. On Thursday, he is giving back to his alma mater in a huge way, donating $32-million to Michigan State athletics.

Ishbia, who is currently the CEO of United Shore in Pontiac, Michigan, donated the money for use in the expansion of the Spartans athletics facilities, including a new football facility and it will also be used to rename the basketball court at the Breslin Center after Tom Izzo.

“This donation is not about me, this is to give credit to and thank coach Tom Izzo, the business school and Michigan State University for the incredible impact they have had on my life,” Ishbia said.
