Former Michigan State basketball Guard Shannon Brown was arrested last week following accusations of shooting at a couple in his Atlanta home on May 2. Brown, who played 3 years at MSU, was charged with aggravated assault and taken to the Fayette County Jail. He then bonded out the following Monday.

Per The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Brown told police he believed the couple was attempting to break into his house. The couple, on the other hand, told police they stopped at Brown’s house only after noticing a “for sale” sign in the yard. Furthermore, the couple told police that the front door was open and they yelled out about intentions to tour the home before fully entering.

Here is a quote from Police Lt. Philip Nelson per USA Today:

“They stated that they heard a voice acknowledge them and once inside, at some point, Mr. Brown came from upstairs with a rifle and detained them. Shortly thereafter he let them go and they stated he fired his rifle towards them as they were leaving.”

Luckily, no one was hurt in this situation. Note, Fayette County police confirmed Brown’s house is indeed listed for sale. We will provide you with more information as it is made available.
