Former LSU target Michael Trigg has entered the transfer portal

One USC transfer that LSU and Brian Kelly need to make a run at.

One area of emphasis for the LSU Tigers in 2022 needs to be improving their tight end position. The team has Kole Taylor and Jack Bech, although the latter is more of a big slot and less of an inline tight end. The team could look to the transfer portal where a former LSU offer has put his name in the hat.

USC tight end Michael Trigg announced on Twitter that he is in the transfer portal and the Tigers could use his services. Trigg held offers from both the LSU Tigers and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He was part of the 2021 recruiting class as the No. 4 ranked tight end. Some view Trigg as a big slot player as well but his usage would likely increase in a Mike Denbrock offense.

As a member of the 2021 Trojans football team, Trigg accumulated just seven passes for 109 yards and a touchdown. His longest reception went for 46 yards, which came in the game against Colorado. The same game where Trigg hauled in his first collegiate touchdown.

Trigg is at least worth kicking the tires on for LSU. One thing that is very noticeable about a Brian Kelly-coached team is they utilize the tight end position quite a bit. It is time they start bringing in some big-time receivers at tight end.
