Former LSU wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was injured in the first quarter of the Cleveland Browns 37-34 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
On Monday, in a text to ESPN’s Josina Anderson, Beckham Jr. confirmed the worst: he is out for the remainder of the season with a torn ACL.
This is tough news for a Cleveland team off to a 5-2 start and in the hunt for an AFC North title.
Beckham Jr. is second on the team with 23 receptions, 319 yards and three touchdowns. Beckham Jr. also rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown.
This is the seventh NFL season for the 27-year-old Beckham Jr., who starred at LSU from 2011-13.
Beckham Jr. has 487 receptions for 6,830 yards and 51 touchdowns in his career.
The Browns host the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 8.
Odell Beckham Jr just text me that his ACL is torn and that his season is over.
