Former LSU quarterback Joe Burrow won his first career NFL game on Sunday when his Cincinnati Bengals defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 33-25.

It was quite the day for the reigning Heisman Trophy winner who completed 25 of 36 passes for 300 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Burrow had a QB rating of 92.3

It was the third straight game Burrow passed for 300 yards or more, setting a record among rookie quarterbacks.

The Jaguars led 13-10 at halftime before Burrow led a big rally in the third quarter that saw the Bengals outscore Jacksonville 17-0 to take a commanding 27-13 lead they would never relinquish.

Burrow has now completed 116-of -77 pass attempts on the season at a clip of 65.5 percent. He has 1,121 passing yards with five touchdowns and two interceptions to go with a rushing touchdown that he scored in his debut.

Burrow praised head coach Zac Taylor after the win.

“I think Zac has done a great job of asking what I’m comfortable with and calling those plays,” Burrow told reporters after the game. “And he understands what I like in certain situations.”

The now 1-2-1 Bengals face the 3-1 Baltimore Ravens in an AFC North clash in Week 5.
