Former Longhorn Charles Omenihu questionable for Sunday

Former Texas Longhorns defensive end Charles Omenihu is unlikely to be on the field against the Browns. He is questionable with a hamstring.

Former Texas Longhorn defensive end Charles Omenihu left Sunday’s game for the Houston Texans with a hamstring against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Omenihu played 10 defensive snaps and one on special teams in the win over the Jags. He left the game with that hamstring injury that kept him out of practice all week according to the Texans Wire. According to the report from editor Mark Lane, Omenihu is listed as questionable for this week’s game.

The Texans will need all hands on deck for their defense as they try to slow the Cleveland Browns and their running game. Since it looks as if Omenihu will miss the game, he will be unable to sack former Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield one more time.

Omenihu got to Mayfield in the Red River Shootout in the 2017 season, although Mayfield came out on top as Oklahoma won 29-24. This would have been Omenihu’s first shot at Baker in the NFL: These teams didn’t play each other a season ago.
