A former Nebraska Cornhusker has been signed to an NFL practice squad. The Cincinnati Bengals signed Garrett Nelson on Tuesday afternoon.

Nelson was undrafted in 2023 and was signed by the Maimi Dolphins as an undrafted free agent. During that time, Nelson recorded five tackles and one sack.

In four seasons at Nebraska, Nelson played in 38 games, totaling 167 tackles, 26 tackles for loss, and 12 sacks. In 2022, the linebacker was a team captain and was selected All-Big Ten Second-Team.

Nelson did have one year of eligibility remaining but decided to declare for the NFL draft following the conclusion of the 2022 season.
