A former Cornhusker is turning heads in his first NFL training camp. Wide receiver Trey Palmer is listed on the Tampa Bay Buccaneer’s two-deep depth chart as a receiver and punt returner.

Palmer was taken in the 191st pick overall in the 2023 NFL draft. The Louisana native spent only one year in Lincoln and made the most of the opportunity.

He had 71 catches for a school-record 1,043 yards and nine touchdowns. The receiver is only the second player to break 1,000 receiving yards in a season after Stanley Morgan Jr. (1,004 yards – 2018).

Palmer is listed on the second team behind All-Pro wideout Mike Evans. He’s also listed as a punt returner behind Deven Thompkins
