Former Georgia RB earns game ball as NFL coordinator

Former Georgia football running back earns game ball thanks to his playcalling for the Carolina Panthers

Former Georgia Bulldogs running back Thomas Brown is now the offensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers. Brown’s first game as the Panthers’ play-caller also happened to be Carolina’s first win of the season.

Carolina defeated the Houston Texans, 15-13, thanks to a last-second field goal. Brown helped call the right plays to get the Panthers’ offense in position to attempt the game-winning field goal.

Carolina finished with only 224 total yards of offense. However, the Panthers and rookie quarterback Bryce Young moved the ball when it counted the most.

Carolina Panthers head coach Frank Reich, who called the plays before the Panthers’ Week 8 game against the Texans, awarded Brown a game ball for his efforts.

Brown was an offensive assistant with the Los Angeles Rams before becoming Carolina’s offensive coordinator.
