Former Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett ruled out for Week 1

Former UGA football quarterback Stetson Bennett will miss NFL Week 1 due to an injury

Former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Stetson Bennett capped off his college football career with back-to-back national championships. Bennett’s NFL career will be put on hold in Week 1.

The Los Angeles Rams have ruled Bennett out due to a right shoulder injury. Bennett had an up-and-down preseason for the Rams, but made Los Angeles’ final roster.

Brett Rypien, who is a member of the Rams’ practice squad, will serve as Los Angeles’ back up quarterback behind Matthew Stafford in Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks.

Bennett was the 128th pick of the 2023 NFL draft. He is expected to be Los Angeles’ backup quarterback when healthy.

The Rams are hoping to have a more successful season in 2023 after finishing third in the NFC West with a record of 5-12 last season.
