Former Georgia football QB tries out for the Green Bay Packers

Former Georgia Bulldogs starting quarterback is hoping the Packers sign him

Former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Jake Fromm has tried out for the Green Bay Packers. Fromm, who most recently played with the Washington Commanders, was released earlier this offseason.

The Buffalo Bills drafted Fromm in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL draft. Fromm spent the 2020 NFL season in Buffalo, but the Bills released him ahead of the 2021 season.

Fromm landed with the New York Giants, with whom he started a couple of games in 2021, but he did not put up impressive numbers (210 passing yards, one touchdown and three interceptions). After his stint with the Giants,  Fromm spent most of his time at Washington on the practice squad from 2022-2024. The Commanders released Fromm in May 2024.

NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reported Fromm worked out with the Packers on Friday, July 19. Fromm is looking to find an NFL home ahead of training camp and preseason action.

Right now, there are more than 60 Georgia Bulldogs on NFL rosters. The Kirby Smart era has really boosted the number of Dawgs in the NFL.
