Former Georgia football defensive lineman has the highest PFF grade of any interior defender after four weeks

Former Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Jalen Carter is off to an excellent start to his NFL career. Carter, a rookie, plays for the Philadelphia Eagles, who are 4-0 to start the NFL season.

Carter is partially responsible for the Eagles’ hot start to the year. The former Georgia Bulldog has Pro Football Focus’ highest-grade of any interior defender in the NFL. Carter has a grade of 92.2.

It is extremely impressive that Jalen Carter is already so impactful as a rookie. Carter has a higher PFF grade than Los Angeles Rams superstar Aaron Donald and other elite interior defenders.

Carter, who was once considered the top prospect in the draft, slid in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft. It worked out well for Carter. He found a perfect fit with the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles have several of Carter’s former Georgia Bulldog teammates and one of the best pass rushes in the NFL.

Jalen Carter will end up going down as one of the steals of the 2023 NFL draft if he keeps up this level of play. The standout Eagles’ rookie has eight tackles, two forced fumbles and 1.5 sacks through his first four career NFL games.
