Former Browns DE Chase Winovich announces his retirement

The DE played for the Patriots, Browns, and Dolphins during his career.

Former Cleveland Browns defensive end Chase Winovich announced his retirement via Instagram on Tuesday. Winovich played in eight games for the Browns last season after starting the season on injured reserve. He recorded one sack, three quarterback hits and 20 tackles during his time in Cleveland and was best known for his playful demeanor. He was a much-needed character in a defensive end room filled with some resentment among veteran leaders

The Browns traded Mack Wilson Jr. to the Patriots for Winovich in the spring of 2022. Winovich played the majority of his career in New England, amassing 11 sacks and 85 tackles in his three years there.

Winovich was signed by the Houston Texans and Miami Dolphins this year. Winovich played in three games for the Dolphins this season before being released last week. He was a college standout at Michigan and made two All-Big Ten teams during his time in Ann Arbor. We’re hoping Winovich does just as well in his second career.
