Former Boston point guard Phil Pressey’s first interview as an assistant coach

Pressey talked about his visits to Boston during the season last year, how the deal to hire him ended up coming together, and what he’s seen from the Celtics in the time since he played for them.

Former Boston Celtics floor general Phil Pressey talked to the media while in Nevada for the NBA’s 2023 Las Vegas Summer League for the first time since the head coach of the Celtics, Joe Mazzulla, hired him as an assistant coach.

Pressey talked about his visits to Boston during the season last year, how the deal to hire him ended up coming together and what he’s seen from the Celtics in the time since he played for them almost a decade ago.

Pressey went on to play for other teams in the league and abroad and was on the staff at the University of Missouri, his alma mater, last season as he made the leap to the other side of the clipboard.

To hear all the new Boston assistant had to say about his new job with the Celtics and his thoughts on the task at hand, be sure to check out the clip embedded by the folks at the CLNS Media Boston Sports Network YouTube channel.
