Former Bengals TE coach Jonathan Hayes named Moeller athletic director

Great news about former Bengals coach Jonathan Hayes.

Former Cincinnati Bengals tight ends coach Jonathan Hayes has taken a new job as the athletic director of Moeller High School, announced by the school on Jan. 17.

“As an athlete, a Moeller parent, and someone with a deep dedication to my faith, I couldn’t think of a better way to dedicate my talents than to work with student-athletes and live out Moeller’s Mission,” Hayes said in a statement. “I look forward to working with the Moeller Family and continuing the winning tradition at Moeller.”

Hayes, who has had his children in Moeller athletics since 2015, was with the Bengals for 16 seasons and moved on to be the co-offensive coordinator of the XFL Arlington Renegades in 2023. He also got some head coaching experience in the XFL with the St. Louis Battlehawks for one year.

Hayes is the father of Jaxson Hayes, a center for the Los Angeles Lakers, forward for the University of Cincinnati Jillian Hayes, and two more sons, one who is still a junior at the school.

“Jonathan’s enthusiasm for Moeller and our student-athletes is a combination that makes him a perfect fit to be the athletic director at Moeller,” Moeller president Marshall Hyzdu said in a statement. “His high expectations will help elevate the athletic office to be a best-in-class organization focusing on the student-athletes and the entire Moeller Family.”
