Former Bears RB D’Onta Foreman signs with Browns

Former Bears running back D’Onta Foreman has found a new home with the Browns.

Former Chicago Bears running back D’Onta Foreman has signed with the Cleveland Browns, according to numerous NFL insiders.

Foreman, who’s spent time with the Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans, and Carolina Panthers, played for the Bears in 2023. He served as a key reserve in running back committee, but also stepped into a starting role due to injuries to Khalil Herbert and Roschon Johnson.

In nine games, including eight starts, Foreman totaled 109 rushes for 425 yards and four touchdowns. He added 11 receptions for 77 yards and a score. Foreman wasn’t the number one guy on the team by any means, as evidenced by him being a healthy scratch in the final stretch, but he accepted his role and executed it.

Now, with D’Andre Swift joining the room with Herbert and Johnson, the expectation is Foreman wouldn’t return. Now, he’s found a new home with the Browns.

It will be interesting to see how Foreman fits in that running back room with Nick Chub and Jerome Ford. He is their third back right now but we’ll see what that means for him and his production.

Chubb was injured for most of the season after suffering a gruesome injury, so Foreman might be needed early on. Hopefully, he finds success with his new NFL team.
