Another Alabama player entered the transfer portal last week when Tanner (Ala.) native Chadarius Townsend chose finish his playing career elsewhere, and now, it looks like he’s found his new home.
On Tuesday afternoon, the former Crimson Tide receiver/running back announced via his social media accounts that he would be playing for Texas Tech this upcoming season:

Townsend is now the second former receiver within the last couple to choose to transfer from Alabama, as Tyrell Shavers announced that he would be heading to Starkville to play for Mike Leach and Mississippi State.
Townsend was a four-star prospect coming out of Tanner High School and was rated as the No. 175 overall player, No. 5 athlete and No. 7 player from the state of Alabama in the 2017 class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
The Red Raiders are in need of more depth at the running back position, so it’s possible that Townsend could see action in the backfield rather than receiver, but either way, he’s a talented playmaker who just couldn’t find his way onto the field at Alabama consistently.
