Former Alabama OT, Cam Robinson, facing suspension by the NFL for PED use

A suspension looms for Jacksonville Jaguars OT, Cam Robinson, after violating the NFL’s PED policy

On this day last year, former Alabama offensive tackle, [autotag]Cam Robinson[/autotag], agreed to a new deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars for three years worth $54 million. Today, the news isn’t quite as uplifting as the Jaguars’ left tackle is facing a multi-game suspension after violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drug policy.

It’s still undetermined how many games Robinson will miss, but it is a massive blow to the Jaguars. They are the favorites to win the AFC South, and now quarterback Trevor Lawrence will be without his blindside protector. Just when Calvin Ridley joined the team and it felt like things were coming together, they now face a setback.

For Robinson, it is a costly mistake for his bank account. Robinson’s deal didn’t include a ton of incentives or guaranteed money, it’s pretty much base salary which he will lose every game he doesn’t play. The Jaguars could re-work the deal to drop the base and increase the bonuses to make sure he gets paid, but there are no guarantees they will do that. Each game that he misses for a suspension will cost him $888,888.

Arizona Cardinals WR, DeAndre Hopkins, was suspended for six games in 2022, so I expect similar punishment for Robinson. When he does return to the field, the Jaguars are serious contenders in the AFC.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Cam Robinson and the Jacksonville Jaguars
