One former Alabama linebacker received some good news on Monday. Reuben Foster is scheduled to work out for the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday.
Foster, the former first-round pick, has not played in the NFL since 2020. He last played for the Washington Commanders.
Foster was known as one of the most hard-hitting linebackers in college football when he was at Alabama. The Alabama native earned playing time by performing at an extremely high level on special teams.
In four seasons at Alabama, Foster recorded 223 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, and seven sacks. During his senior season, Foster was recognized as a unanimous All-American and was the winning recipient of the Butkus Award.
Foster has not been the same since his college days. He spent time with the San Francisco 49ers and Commanders. However, he was not able to establish his footing in the league due to injuries and off-the-field issues.
Now, he will have the opportunity to make the Dolphins roster or earn a practice squad opportunity. If not, he will likely continue his USFL career playing for the Pittsburgh Maulers.
