Antonio Alfano’s career at the University of Alabama never had a chance to to get started, and it looks like his second chance saw at Colorado saw a similar outcome.
According to Colorado’s new head coach, Karl Dorrell, the former five-star defensive lineman was suspended indefinitely following a violation of team rules. Beat writer Brian Howell was the first to report the news via Twitter:
According to Colorado head coach Karl Dorrell, DL Antonio Alfano, a transfer from Alabama "has been suspended indefinitely for violation of team rules.” Alfano arrived on campus in January. #cubuffs

The news of Alfano’s indefinitely suspension is an unfortunate turn for the New Jersey native, as he was once considered the nation’s top overall player in the 2019 recruiting class according to 247Sports.
After a brief stint in Tuscaloosa that saw Alfano enter the transfer portal less than 10 months after arriving on campus in the spring of 2019, he decided to join former Alabama staffer Mel Tucker, who was the head coach at the time, at Colorado.
Due to NCAA rules, Alfano wasn’t eligible this past season, but he was expected to be an important part of the Buffaloes’ defense starting in 2020.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like that is going to happen unless something drastic changes with Alfano’s off-the-field issues.
