Forbes rates Raiders as 26th-most valuable franchise in sports

For years, when Forbes put out their list of the 50 most valuable teams in sports, the Raiders would be among a handful of NFL teams to miss the list altogether. It wasn’t until 2017 that that changed.

The financial publication put out their annual list today and the Raiders landed at 26th with a value of $2.9 billion. It makes them the 12th most valuable team in the NFL.

That’s up from 34th last year with a value of $2.42 billion which ranked 18th in the NFL.

Back in 2017, after the team announced they would be building a new stadium in Las Vegas, their projected worth jumped over $2 billion for the first time in franchise history. That year saw the team’s value jump 43 percent, up from $1.43 billion the previous year.

These valuations come just after the team had officially made the move into their new facility in Henderson Nevada and Allegiant Stadium announcing they had reached substantial completion of the stadium, which is scheduled to host the first Raiders game on September 20.
