Florida football gets set to host the South Carolina Gamecocks in the final home matchup of the season on Saturday, which will also serve as Senior Day as well as the Salute to Service game. Both teams are coming off wins last week with the Gators prevailing over the Texas A&M Aggies in College Station and the Gamecocks handling the Vanderbilt Commodores in Nashville.
The visitors travel to Gainesville with a 6-3 record overall which includes an even 3-3 mark in Southeastern Conference competition. Meanwhile, the home team is game behind in the standings both overall and among SEC foes with 5-4 and 2-4 marks, respectively.
Florida holds an overwhelming edge in the all-time series with a 29-10-3 record that dates all the way back to 1911 when the two teams finished the game tied at 6-6 in Columbia. The two schools met off and on until 1939, after which they faced once in Gainesville during the 1964 season (a 37-0 win for UF) before the Gamecocks joined the SEC in 1990. Since 1992 — the first meeting as SEC foes — the Gators are 13-7 in the series, though they have evenly split the last 12 matchups.
