Florida State falls out, USC rises in Week 1’s US LBM Coaches Poll

A look at the first in-season US LBM Coaches Poll update of the 2024 campaign. How far did FSU really fall?

The 2024 college football season couldn’t have started any worse for the Florida State Seminoles. After losing to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in Dublin on a field goal in Week 1, Boston College blasted them in the 28-13 loss to another ACC foe. With an open week, FSU has more questions than answers at this point. A preseason top-10 team is now sitting on the outside following Week 1.

There wasn’t movement from the top of the poll with the top nine teams all coming away victorious, however, Oregon did fall after a disappointing showing. A big winner came from Las Vegas following the USC Trojans‘ win over the LSU Tigers at Allegiant Stadium. Miller Moss is proving to be a problem for defenses to deal with in his two starts since taking over for Caleb Williams. Once more film is put out there, we shall see if he will continue his torrid pace.
