Florida one of ‘top schools’ for this 4-star 2025 wide receiver

Florida is “definitely one of my top schools” says this blue-chip wide receiver out of South Florida.

The recruiting grind continues for Florida football despite the current dead period that lasts until just before the season opener on Aug. 31 against the Utah Utes in Salt Lake City. Billy Napier and his staff have used this time to extend scholarship offers to student-athletes that they feel will fit the program best.

However, Napier and Co. have been planting seeds along the recruiting path consistently since taking over, and those efforts continue to pay off. Four-star wide receiver [autotag]Naeshaun Montgomery[/autotag] out of West Palm Beach (Florida) Cardinal Newman in the 2025 cycle was offered back on April 1 and recently spoke with Gators Online’s Corey Bender to discuss where he is at with the Orange and Blue.

“The relationship is kind of just beginning. We are getting to know one another,” Montgomery offered. “Me and my dad sat in (head coach Billy Napier’s) office for about an hour going over how I could fit into their system. We also talked about how well he knows my coach, coach (Jack) Daniels.

“(Napier’s) definitely a coach I can see myself getting coached by.”

Along with Florida, the blue-chip pass-catcher holds offers from the Ohio State Buckeyes, Georgia Bulldogs, Florida State Seminoles, Miami Hurricanes, USC Trojans and LSU Tigers, among others.

Despite the heavy competition for the Sunshine State product, he seems to be growing on what the Orange and Blue have to offer.

“Things since Aug. 1 have been pretty steady. We exchanged contacts and have been checking in with one another every chance we get,” said Montgomery. “I love how everyone is buying into what coach Napier has planned for the program. You can feel the love.”

As for where the Gators stand among the competition, the high school junior had a simple answer.

“Definitely one of my top schools.”

Montgomery is ranked No. 79 overall and No. 12 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 70 and 12, respectively. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has Miami in front for his recruitment (23.1%) followed by Florida (20.2%), LSU (17.4%) and USC (145%).
