Florida moves up in NET rankings after beating TAMU in semifinals

The Gators are just outside the NET rankings top 25 entering Sunday afternoon’s SEC Tournament Finals.

Florida basketball beat the Texas A&M Aggies on Saturday afternoon, 95-90, in the Southeastern Conference Tournament Semifinals, giving the Gators both a shot at the SEC crown as well as building their resume for a high NCAA Tournament seed.

Following the win, the Orange and Blue rose two spots overall in the NET rankings from before Saturday’s game to No. 26. Todd Golden’s gang now sits between the No. 25 Colorado Buffaloes and No. 27 Dayton Flyers.

Here’s how the quadrant system breaks things up:

  • Quadrant 1: Home 1-30, Neutral 1-50, Away 1-75
  • Quadrant 2: Home 31-75, Neutral 51-100, Away 76-135
  • Quadrant 3: Home 76-160, Neutral 101-200, Away 135-240
  • Quadrant 4: Home 161-353, Neutral 201-353, Away 241-353

The Gators are now 6-7 against Quadrant 1 opponents, 4-2 against Quadrant 2 opponents, 9-1 against Quadrant 3 opponents and 5-0 against Quadrant 4 opponents. They now hold a 24-10 record overall and a 14-7 mark against Southeastern Conference opponents.

Florida will take on the Auburn Tigers in the SEC Tournament Finals on Sunday, March 17, in Nashville with a tipoff time set for 1 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
