One of the best kickers in all of college football is making the early jump to the next level.
Florida’s Evan McPherson announced via social media Tuesday afternoon that he will be leaving school early to enter the 2021 NFL draft.
McPherson has been rock solid throughout his time in Gainesville. McPherson leaves Florida with some really solid numbers to his name. He hit 51 of 60 field-goal attempts, or 85%. McPherson was 17 of 22 in 2020, including an unfortunate miss from 51 yards at the end of a 37-34 loss Dec. 12 at home to LSU.
Plenty of NFL teams could be searching for a new kicker this offseason. This has been one of the worst seasons in recent memory when it comes to kickers. Several teams have recycled through a number of options while searching for stability.
This is good news for McPherson’s chances of being drafted on Day 3.
