Florida held firm at No. 3 in the Amway Coaches Poll, which was released earlier on Sunday, but its unimpressive defensive performance against South Carolina hurt it in the latest AP Poll.
The Gators dropped one spot to No. 4, being supplanted by Georgia, who impressed in its 27-6 victory over No. 7 Auburn on Saturday.
With the Bulldogs apparently back on track after struggling in the first half against Arkansas (who may be better than we expected, considering it beat Mississippi State 21-14) last week, they snagged the spot previously occupied by UF in the poll.
Alabama remains at No. 2 behind Clemson, and with Auburn’s loss, there are no other SEC teams currently in the top 10. The Tigers fell to No. 13.
Tennessee and LSU are up to No. 14 and 17, respectively, after big wins against Missouri and Vanderbilt.
Texas A&M, who lost a 52-24 shootout to Alabama and faces the Gators in College Station, Tex., next Saturday, rounds out the ranked SEC squads, dropping from No. 13 to No. 21.
Here’s the full top 25.
