Florida Gators add three commits to two classes in 11-day span

UF added three names to its recruiting class signing defensive end Jeremiah Williams, athlete Sam McCall and guard Yousef Mugharbil.

Next came Lakeland, Florida five-star athlete Sam McCall, who pledged on October 28.

“Athlete” can be a vague term when it comes to recruiting, but the expectation is McCall will play cornerback in Gainesville, with the possibility to contribute on offense, as well.

Recruited by cornerbacks coach Torrian Gray and passing game coordinator/wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales, he picked the Gators over Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide, an in-state rival, Mike Norvell’s Florida State Seminoles, and Lincoln Riley’s Oklahoma Sooners.

Still early in the process, McCall is the second member of Florida’s 2022 class, joining Miami four-star wide receiver Syveion Ellis.
