The first two-thirds of the 2022 college football campaign is in the books with the Florida Gators notching an even 4-4 record with a 1-4 mark in Southeastern Conference play so far. It has been a bit of a rough going for new head coach [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag], who has overseen the turnover from the [autotag]Dan Mullen[/autotag] years into a new era, but the team has shown that it will not quit — which is as much as you can ask during a transition year.
The Texas A&M Aggies have been a sore disappointment this season, putting up a 3-5 record along with an identical 1-4 mark in conference competition despite dumping huge sums of money into head coach Jimbo Fisher as well as NIL. A preseason top-10 team, TAMU has fallen on hard times and does not look to be anything close to the threat many had foreseen.
Texas A&M holds a slight edge in the short series history with a 3-2 record, having won the last two straight and going 2-1 since entering the SEC. Prior to that, the two schools split their meetings with the Gators earning a home win in 1962 while the Aggies evened things up with a Sun Bowl win in El Paso, Texas, in 1976.
