Five-star WR Cam Coleman includes Auburn in top eight

Auburn remains in the chase for one of its’ top 2024 targets.

[autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] and company received great news Monday, as one of their most heavily pursued 2024 targets listed Auburn in his top eight.

[autotag]Cam Coleman[/autotag], a five-star wide receiver from nearby Phenix City, revealed his top eight college choices on Monday. Joining Auburn in making the cut is Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, and Texas A&M.

Auburn is currently in the lead to land Coleman according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 77.9% chance. Texas A&M and Clemson are next in line with less than a 10% chance to earn his signature.

He told On3’s Chad Simmons that out of all the coaches he chats with across the country, Auburn wide receivers coach Marcus Davis is the one that he has the best relationship with.

“We talk about everything, especially stuff outside of football,” Coleman said of Davis. “(Auburn is) recruiting me the hardest. I have a bond with Coach Davis and Hugh Freeze always talks about he wants to be the head coach that I talk to the most. Auburn is really coming after me hard.”

Now that he has dropped his top eight, Coleman plans to take his time with committing. He has taken official visits to Clemson, Florida State, Auburn, and Texas A&M, with one final visit coming this weekend to LSU. Expect Coleman to announce his commitment closer to early signing day in December.
