Five-star Ohio State basketball target Efton Reid postpones commitment… Again

Ohio State is waiting patiently on five-star center Efton Reid who has postponed his commitment for a second time.

The Ohio State basketball team has been waiting patiently on five-star center Efton Reid to make his college decision. Reid is the No. 3 rated center in the country according to 247 Sports composite rankings and has postponed his commitment for a second time.

Don’t be frustrated with Reid on this one Buckeye Nation as it seems like “Mama Bear” might be the one jumping the gun. Twice now, Reid’s mother has gone to Twitter to share official dates that her son would be committing, and twice, we’ve got nothing. The dates given were April 15 and most recently May 7. Both tweets ended with “Mama Bear has spoken” and both came and went without a commitment.

Reid has been very quiet about his recruitment all along and isn’t very vocal on social media by today’s standards. However, after quote tweeting mom saying “It’s FR (for real) this time” Reid followed up with a more somber message saying “Patience Ya’ll”.

It seems that Reid may have been ready to make a decision and then something happened that made him pause and think again. Could it be that a certain school in the Big Ten just had a center transfer out and has an open roster spot? Hmm… we do like to ponder.

It’s hard to say one way or the other. Reid would be a huge win for Chris Holtmann and the Buckeyes, but let’s be patient with this kid. It’s his future and he should take as much time as needed… even if “Mama Bear” has spoken.
