A top class of 2026 offensive lineman has cut his list of finalists, and Nebraska made the list. Jackson Cantwell is a five-star offensive tackle for Nixa High School in Nixa, Missouri.
Cantwell cut the number of offers he’s currently considering in half. Nebraska is listed among the 14 finalists the tackle named earlier in the week.
Cantwell excels at sports other than football as well. During his freshman year in high school, he threw the shotput 62-0.5 feet, good enough for the third longest all-time for a freshman.
It should be no surprise that Cantwell would excel at the shotput. His father, Christian Cantwell, is a five-time world champion and won the silver medal in the shot put in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
His mother, Terri Cantwell, was also an accomplished athlete. The native of Crete, Nebraska, participated in the 2000 Syndey Olympics and was a two-time NCAA shot put champion at Southern Methodist.
