One of Duke basketball’s top remaining targets in the 2025 recruiting class will announce his commitment next week.
Shelton Henderson, a five-star small forward from Bellaire High School in Texas, said on Friday that he’d share his decision on Saturday, November 2nd.
The No. 15 player in the 247Sports 2025 recruiting rankings averaged 21.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 2.9 steals, and 1.4 blocks as a junior for the Cardinals, leading his team in every category. The Blue Devils, Texas Longhorns, and Louisville Cardinals remain in the running for his commitment.
While the Longhorns are Henderson’s in-state program, Duke looks like the favorite as of Friday. Multiple 247Sports recruiting analysts have filed Crystal Ball predictions for Henderson to join Cameron Boozer, Cayden Boozer, and Nikolas Khamenia in Jon Scheyer’s top-ranked recruiting class. Associate head coach Jai Lucas, who attended Bellaire himself, traveled to Texas for an in-person visit in late September, and Henderson included Duke among his final three schools just weeks later.

Should he choose to play his college ball in Durham, Henderson would be Duke’s third five-star commitment of the Class of 2025 and Scheyer’s 14th five-star talent since he took over as the head coach in 2022.
