Texas remains in good position with five-star cornerback Kobe Black.
On3 national recruiting analyst Sam Spiegelman entered a prediction in favor of Texas to land Black on April 25. Spiegelman stated that Black’s recruitment has seemingly come down to Texas and Oklahoma.
Black is rated the No. 2 cornerback in the country for the 2024 cycle and the No. 2 overall prospect in Texas, according to 247Sports. The Connally High School (Waco, TX) product also plays basketball and runs track. As a junior in 2022, Black was named a Texas District 11-4A D-II first-team selection at both cornerback and wide receiver.
Black has visited Austin several times over the last few months and has now locked in an official visit with Texas. On3 reported on Friday that Black has scheduled an official visit with the Longhorns from June 23-25.
