Five Vikings who could be key reserves in 2020

The Vikings could very well need reserves to step up in order to find success in 2020. Here are five players who could rise to the occasion.

Josh Metellus

It’s probable that safeties Anthony Harris and Harrison Smith will be back deep for the Vikings in 2020, barring injuries or trades.

But those two can’t play every snap. Now that Jayron Kearse and Andrew Sendejo are gone, Metellus has a chance to seize a spot near the top of the depth chart at safety, and earn a good number of snaps. He will compete with Brian Cole II and Myles Dorn for playing time, though.

If Smith or Harris go down, or if the team doesn’t keep Harris around long term, then Metellus playing well could save the Vikings a lot of trouble.
