Recent seasons for Texas have been nothing but disappointments. Here are five reasons the Longhorns will rebound in 2021.

It’s no secret that recent seasons for Texas have been nothing but disappointments. Constant preseason hype with high rankings, just to be let down for another multiple loss season. Tom Herman’s final straw came after the 2020 season, and athletic director Chris Del Conte had to show him the door, slamming it shut behind him.

Steve Sarkisian has been brought in and there seems to be a new energy surrounding the program — as there always is with a new head coach. An excellent staff has been hired, mainly from Nick Saban’s Alabama group. A West Coast influence in the form of defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski and linebackers coach Jeff Choate has been brought in as well.

With full capacity expected at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium this fall, the buzz surrounding this year’s team is palpable. Sarkisian has made roster changes for the better, bringing in highly regarded players. This could be the beginning of when the Longhorns are finally “back.”
