Financials reportedly released for Grant Delpit’s new contract with Browns

The financials have been released on the new contract between the Browns and Grant Delpit.

The Cleveland Browns and safety Grant Delpit reached an agreement on a new contract extension that was reported bright and early Sunday morning. And now, we have a better idea of the financials of Delpit’s new deal that will keep him in Cleveland.

Per the OBR and Brad Stainbrook, it is officially a three-year deal worth $36 million that will keep Delpit under contract through the 2026 season. Delpit will receive an estimated $12 million per year, with over $23 million of that guaranteed.

In all reality, this is a two-year deal as the guarantees run through the first two years of the contract.

This totals out as the 12th-highest safety contract in the NFL. This is even before free agency hits, where more will get paid inflated deals on the open market and guys like Delpit on rookie contracts will get paid.

Now both starting safeties, Delpit and Juan Thornhill, are under contract through at least 2025.
