Final Injury report before Saturday’s matchup vs. Appalachian State

Head coach Jimbo Fisher and his 2022 Texas A&M Football squad are less than 24 hours away from their week 2 game vs. the Appalachian State Mountaineers, both coming off of polar opposite week 1 results, as the Aggies shut down Sam Houston State 31-0, while the Mountaineers lost a heartbreaker in one of the craziest week 1 games in modern history, falling 63-61 against North Carolina.

On Monday, during Texas A&M’s weekly press conference where Fisher and select players are available to answer questions from the local media, Jimbo addressed injury updates on a number of key players on offense and defense, including starting center Bryce Foster, starting corner Jaylon Jones, starting nose tackle McKinnley Jackson, and starting tight end Max Wright—starting middle linebacker Andre White Jr. also showed up on the injury report after a minor injury sustained in last Saturday.

As of Friday, Mckinnley Jackson and Jaylon Jones are expected to play tomorrow after returning to practice this week. Meanwhile, Andre White’s status is mostly positive, but still up in the air today, same with Max Wright.  Bryce Foster is not expected to play tomorrow as he continues to deal with an illness, meaning backup center Matthew Wykoff will make consecutive starts at the spot. One surprise that popped up this week was the status of freshman nose tackle Walter Nolan, who was apparently spotted in a walking boot after a minor injury scare last weekend, although the boot is only precautionary, and he should be good to know tomorrow afternoon.

Gig ‘Em, BTHO Appalachian State, and make sure to have fun and stay safe if you’re attending the game this weekend, but for everyone else, kick-off is Saturday at 2:30 PM Central, and the game will be airing on ESPN 2.
