FINAL: Alabama drops first SEC game of the season to Tennessee Volunteers 68-59

Tide fall to No. 10 Tennessee Volunteers 68-59

After starting their SEC campaign 12-0, the Alabama Crimson Tide finally dropped their first conference game of the season Wednesday night. The Tide entered Knoxville as a 2.5-point underdog despite being the No. 1 ranked team in the country. The Tennessee Volunteers won 68-59.

Coming off of an emotional win against the Auburn Tigers on Saturday, Alabama just never looked like they were in rhythm against the Vols. On top of that, some questionable officiating coupled with a hostile environment was enough to give No. 10 Tennessee their marquee win of the year.

The Volunteer defense was solid all night long as they held Brandon Miller to 4/11 from the field for 15 points with the other four Alabama starters combining for only 27 points.

The Tide still leads the SEC by a game and a half, but dropping a game to one of their biggest rivals will not sit well with Nate Oats and his staff. Alabama will have a chance to bounce back on Saturday when they host the Georgia Bulldogs.
