The Brooklyn Nets (20-28, 11th in the Eastern Conference) are looking to string together some wins at this point so that they can get back into the playoff race. Brooklyn has been playing better basketball as of late, but February will be a tough month for them to win a lot of games.
In a recent article by John Schuhmann of NBA.com, he complied the strength of schedule rankings for every team in the league going into the month of February. Per Schuhmann’s rankings, the Nets have the ninth-hardest schedule in the NBA for February.
Schuhmann’s rankings are based on the cumulative opponent winning percentage, the number of back-to-backs, and how many games a team plays at home and on the road. As of the writing of his piece that was published on Feb. 1, Brooklyn’s opponent winning percentage was (0.535).
So far, the Nets have played just one game and that was a 136-121 win at the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday in which Brooklyn took care of business handily partially because of Philadelphia missing superstar center Joel Embiid, among others.
Per Schuhmann’s article, the Nets will have three sets of back-to-backs, the first set being against the Golden State Warriors and the Dallas Mavericks at home on Monday and Tuesday, respectively. Also, Brooklyn now has six games at home and five games on the road.
