Pittsburgh Steelers WR George Pickens is coming off his best season as he enters his 3rd professional campaign. The Steelers 2022 2nd-round pick finished with 1,140 receiving yards last season after an 801-yard campaign as a rookie. While he didn’t earn a Pro Bowl selection, that could certainly be in the cards for this upcoming season. Below, we look at George Pickens’ 2024 fantasy football average draft position (ADP) and where you should draft him.
Entering 2024, he is expected to take another big step in his development and ideally will have the ability to end as a top-10 or top-15 fantasy receiver. The rising star is intriguing in terms of fantasy value.

(ADP data courtesy of MyFantasyLeague.com; last updated at time of this publishing – ADPs continually change as more drafts occur)
Pickens’ 59.13 ADP in redraft leagues places him in the range of the 5th to 8th round, depending on the size of the league. His ADP is the highest on the Steelers with the next closest being DE T.J. Watt (71.55).
Among wide receivers, Pickens’ ADP puts him 27th at the position. He is behind Cleveland’s Amari Cooper (53.67) and Baltimore’s Zay Flowers (56.92), and slightly ahead of Cincinnati’s Tee Higgins (59.33), Buffalo’s Keon Coleman (66.90) and Houston’s Tank Dell (66.92).

Where should you draft Pickens?
Pickens’ fantasy value should get a boost this season with the arrival of QBs Justin Fields and Russell Wilson. Despite which one wins the starting gig, both should be better than QB Kenny Pickett was a season ago. Pickens is going to be the top target in this Steelers offense and should be a lofty percentage of the target share.
The better question is simply how often are the Steelers going to throw and how consistently can they get first downs and stay on the field? Pickens showed last season that even with instability at the position he could produce, which, for fantasy managers, should be a huge positive. Pickens had a league-high 18.1 yards per reception.
If the Steelers, which they should, stay on the field more often, Pickens should see an uptick in his receptions, potentially topping 70 for the 1st time in his career. His 1,140 yards last season came on 63 receptions.
The opportunity will be there for Pickens, and he’s being undervalued in his current ADP given the strength of the Steelers coaching staff and how frequently he should be thrown to.
Draft Pickens as the top Steeler and do not let him drop out of the 6th round. If the Steelers quarterback room upgrades even a bit over last season, Pickens could go for 1,200 yards and 70-plus receptions. He should be more valuable in PPR than he was a season ago as well.
