Analyzing New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers’ 2023 fantasy football ADP and where to target him in fantasy drafts.

New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers, after an amazing run with the Green Bay Packers, now finds himself with the New York Jets. Below, we look at Aaron Rodgers’ 2023 fantasy football average draft position (ADP) and where you should draft him.

Rodgers’ top target with the Jets will likely be WR Garrett Wilson. The Packers’ trade of WR Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders before the 2022 season and a thumb injury to Rodgers, led to a decline for the QB after back-to-back MVP campaigns in 2020 and ’21.

Despite not missing a game last season, Rodgers only threw for 3,695 yards and 26 touchdowns with a staggering 12 interceptions. Coming to New York and being reunited with offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett will allow Rodgers to show his talent as he and Hackett, who was the Packers OC in 2019-’21, will look to make magic once again on the field.

Aaron Rodgers’ ADP: 88.80

(ADP data courtesy of MyFantasyLeague.com; last updated at time of this publishing – ADPs continually change as more drafts occur)

Rodgers’ ADP ranks 16th among quarterbacks. Geno Smith of the Seattle Seahawks is 15th with an ADP of 85.43, while rookies C.J. Stroud of the Houston Texans (89.09) and Bryce Young of the Carolina Panthers (92.06) are 17th and 18th, respectively.

Rogers has proven repeatedly not to count him out when mad. After the way he feels he was treated at the end of his days in Green Bay, he is mad. This will be a wonderful thing for his fantasy owners and not so much for his opponents this season.

Wilson, coming off an Offensive Rookie of the Year award, will be the target hog which Rodgers loves to use. Their connection has been building this offseason as Rodgers spent most of the summer in the New York area getting to know his teammates. This bond, and the hopeful ascension of the offensive line to match the defense, will help Rodgers in his attempt to take a second team to the Super Bowl.

Much like his contemporary Tom Brady, if he can do so, either in 2023 or 2024 with this Jets team, it would cement him as a top QB of all time — something someone like Rodgers certainly cares about.

Where should you draft Rodgers?

Despite his ADP having him go in the 10th round of a 12-team league, this should be the floor for Rodgers this season. If you can get him here, as the 16th QB drafted, you’ll have a great advantage at the position.

The likelihood he finishes this low is slim and the ability for him to finish in the top 10 is far more likely to happen.

With Wilson and former Green Bay wideouts Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb, Rodgers is set to have another MVP-type season, which means impressive results in the fantasy landscape as well.

If you wait until the 8th or 9th round to grab him, great. If you want to make sure to get him and don’t feel comfortable waiting, a 7th-round selection, in the range of QB 12, would not be a reach for such a talented and motivated Rodgers.
