Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson has been impressive in 5 NFL seasons. The 26-year-old, who was the last pick in the 1st round on the 2016 NFL Draft by the Ravens, has been named to 2 Pro Bowls and was the 2019 NFL AP Most Valuable Player. Jackson, despite being injury-prone last season, inked a five-year, $260 million deal this offseason.

Below, we look at Lamar Jackson‘s 2023 fantasy football average draft position (ADP) and where you should draft him.

Entering 2023, he is expected to take a big step up in his production and  return to his superstar form, becoming a top-5 or top-2 quarterback in the league. The dual-threat signal-caller is intriguing in terms of fantasy value.

Jackson was the No. 2 overall player in terms of average points in the 2019 season, showcasing that upside. His ADP of 27.39 puts him in the 3rd round of most redraft leagues. He is being taken as the No. 4 quarterback, behind the Philadelphia Eagles’ Jalen Hurts (15.83) and slightly before the Cincinnati Bengals’ Joe Burrow (30.23) and the Los Angeles Chargers’  Justin Herbert (33.16).

He is being taken as the top Ravens player off the board, but is closely followed by TE Mark Andrews (29.25).

Where should you draft Jackson?

If you like going big, then Jackson could be the perfect pick. The Ravens have Andrews, who gives Jackson a terrific receiving option, but it’s more than just a star tight end. WR Zay Flowers should make a jump, and the presence of veteran star WR Odell Beckham Jr. will help. When healthy, Jackson’s running makes him a threat to win a fantasy game almost single-handedly on the ground. The addition of Beckham Jr. and the development of Flowers will be paramount.

Regardless, Jackson possesses unparalleled speed at the position. With Todd Monken taking over as offensive coordinator and coming from the University of Georgia, Jackson may be used more in the rushing attack, aiding his fantasy value. Jackson was a fantasy superstar when healthy, and having been paid, he should want to reward Baltimore for that contract.

Draft Jackson later than his ADP but do not feel bad about taking him as your QB1 in the mid-to-late 4th round. In 10-team leagues, make sure he’s off the board by that 6th round.
