Cleveland Browns RB Kareem Hunt shared the wealth in the backfield in one of the better one-two punches in the NFL last season. Below, we look at Kareem Hunt‘s 2021 fantasy football average draft position (ADP) and where you should draft him.
Hunt shared the backfield totes with RB Nick Chubb in 2020, and it was a tremendous combination.
The Browns ranked third in the NFL with 148.4 yards per game on the ground, and Hunt not only proved to be a tremendous back running the ball, but he was outstanding catching the ball out of the backfield, too. We’ve seen it before during his time in Kansas City.

Hunt has been going off the board as the 27th running back in fantasy drafts, which is pretty amazing considering Chubb (average pick – 16.75) shares the backfield with him and has been nabbed as the ninth tailback selected.
With 32 teams in the NFL, Hunt has been going ahead of several No. 1 backs on other teams.

Hunt’s 2020 stats
Rushing: 198 carries for 841 yards
Receiving: 38 receptions for 304 yards
Touchdowns: 6 rushing/5 receiving
Fumbles: 2 (0 lost)
Where should you take Hunt in your fantasy football draft?
Hunt once totaled 1,782 total scrimmage yards with 11 total touchdowns when he was the No. 1 back. He is capable of being the workhorse in a backfield, so his outstanding production in Cleveland in 2020 shouldn’t come as a shock to anybody.
Despite being entrenched as the backup to Chubb, Hunt didn’t complain. He worked hard and took advantage of every touch given to him in an 11-win season for the Browns.
Hunt will find himself in a similar role in 2021. The Browns are expected to get WR Odell Beckham Jr. back from a torn ACL sooner rather than later, so that will be one more mouth to feed in the pass game.
However, Hunt’s numbers should still be relatively similar to last season. He and Chubb nearly matched former Browns Earnest Byner and Kevin Mack as a tailback duo to run for 1,000 yards in a single season.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski seems to like running the ball, so fantasy owners will want stock in Hunt again.
Taking him earlier than Round 5 in standard formats might be a little on the early side, but it’s green-light time in Round 6 and beyond.
In PPR leagues, the window should be open for Hunt starting in Round 5, as he has totaled 75 receptions in 24 games over the past season and a half for Cleveland.
