As the top pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, there are big expectations surrounding Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence, even as a rookie. Below, we look at Trevor Lawrence‘s 2021 fantasy football average draft position (ADP) and where you should draft him.
After steering an elite program at Clemson, Lawrence was easily the top overall pick. With a new head coach in Urban Meyer, there could be skepticism regarding how Lawrence will fair as a rookie.
At his core, Lawrence is a winner, but it’ll take something special for that to translate to the NFL.
At 6-foot-6, Lawrence has solid size and is a capable athlete. He threw for over 10,000 yards in just three seasons at Clemson, so the arm talent is clearly there as well.
The real question will be if he can translate his skill into immediate production.
Lawrence’s ADP: 36.53

At 36.53, Lawrence only gives good value in two QB leagues. He’s currently being taken as the eighth quarterback, before the likes of 2020 No. 1 overall pick Joe Burrow.
He’s by far the top Jaguars player off the board as well. Taken as high as No. 1 (likely dynasty or keeper leagues) and taken as low as No. 187 (likely one-QB leagues), Lawrence is a risky play.
Betting on Lawrence is also a bet on Meyer, which is a risk in and of itself, considering the change from college to pro coaching doesn’t always pan out.

Where should you take Lawrence in your fantasy football draft?
Lawrence is being mocked far too high. Considering that all draft types are considered, Lawrence may get a boost since keeper leagues would value him differently.
With RB James Robinson and former teammate RB/WR Travis Etienne in Jacksonville, there should be some hope that the offense can move the chains. However, college is drastically different from the pros.
Not a ton of quarterbacks step in and immediately thrive. Lawrence is fine as a second-round pick in keeper leagues. He’s a top-three pick in dynasty leagues.
But, in one QB standard leagues, he may not even be a top-12 quarterback. I don’t necessarily trust Meyer quite yet, despite his collegiate accomplishments, I’d shy away from Lawrence until you’ve filled all the other positions in a standard league.
He should be a seventh- or eighth-round pick in standard leagues.
