Fantasy football draft: Where to draft Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams

Analyzing Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams’ 2021 fantasy football ADP and where you should target him in your drafts.

Green Bay Packers WR Davante Adams may not know who his quarterback will be this season, but after coming off his best professional campaign in 2020, he should be able to produce regardless of who is under center in Green Bay. Below, we look at Davante Adams‘s 2021 fantasy football average draft position (ADP) and where you should draft him.

Adams should be one of the top wide receivers in fantasy football this season. Not only did he lead the league with 18 receiving touchdowns, but his 98.1 receiving yards per game ranked atop the NFL as well in 2020.

Adams had MVP QB Aaron Rodgers leading the way last season and that situation will heavily impact his fantasy value in 2021. As of now, Rodgers is still taking time to think of his future.

While Rodgers does increase Adams’ value, he should be a top-five receiver even with Jordan Love slinging the pigskin.

Despite his dominant season, fantasy owners seem to be low on Adams considering the fluid situation with Rodgers. He has, however, gone as high as fourth overall but also as low as No. 44.

Adams ranks as the second wide receiver. He’s only behind Kansas City Chiefs speedster Tyreek Hill. Given the situation, it’s a fair place for Adams to come off the board.

Adams trails only RB Aaron Jones among Packers players.

Where should you take Davante Adams in your fantasy football draft?

It’s a tough place for Adams, and it’s a situation that will develop. In keeper leagues, I’d hold on to the star receiver unless given only one player to keep.

He’s still just 28 years old and should be able to contribute even without Rodgers. The tough part comes into play when thinking about his current draft position, one reason he’s been taken as low as 44.

Though some managers might choose to go with Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts or Los Angeles Rams RB Cam Akers, picking Adams in the third round offers both elite upside and a high floor.

Adams finished No. 1 in standard and PPR scoring for wide receivers last year. Having played in just 14 games, he averaged over 3.5 points per game more than the second-place Hill.

Late in the second round, Adams could be a season-changing steal.
