Alabama’s College Football Playoff chances took a massive hit in Week 2 of the 2023 season when the team lost by double digits at home to Texas. Since that loss, the Crimson Tide has not played perfect football, but they’ve won six straight games and are back in the playoff hunt.
Recently, CBS Sports asked fans online to vote for the one-loss team with the best shot at reaching the College Football Playoff.
With over 26,000 votes, Alabama was the top team with 45.3% of the vote. Texas came in second with 23.7%, Oregon with 23.1%, and Penn State with 7.8%.
In order to have a chance at being considered for the playoffs, the Crimson Tide must win the remaining games on the schedule convincingly and then will likely have to take down Georgia, the top-ranked team, in the SEC championship.
