It’s never easy to come into the NFL as a rookie quarterback and make an immediate impact. That’s why the Jets are trying to talk themselves out of panicking about Zach Wilson’s struggles in 2021. After all, the Jets haven’t exactly surrounded Wilson with talent, and a Week 7 knee injury was a considerable setback for the rookie from BYU.
But man, Wilson is not helping himself out at all either in his return to action.
During Sunday’s Week 12 game against the Texans, Wilson threw one of the worst interceptions of the season. It was his 10th interception of the season to just four touchdowns.
On third and 17, Wilson scrambled up the middle and then threw shovel pass on an already-dead play that went straight off teammate Ty Johnson’s back for a Texans interception.
